Meeting Summary June 13, 2024
Attending: Hultgren, Clark, Waldburger
As there were only 3 members in attendance, we informally discussed the following items:
The three of us who all participated in this (first) year’s 4th grade bike education program discussed how the 4 days of bike instruction went and what will make the next program better. Having more volunteer instructors for the “off bike” part of the program (under the tent) to help with the instruction when Hultgren & Waldburger aren’t present.
With Bill Thorne recovering from 2 surgeries, how to get the CWA program up and running was also discussed. Hultgren said he and John Dayton were scoping and riding routes that the program could use starting at the MCNR or Senior Center. Clark said she would work to compile a Pilot training manual from the information that Thorne has gathered. Hultgren said he would talk to Valentine about setting up a way to schedule and log rides.
Finding action items for Bike Mansfield members to help in implementing the recommendations of the recently adopted Town’s Bike/Pedestrian Master Plan was also discussed, and a few the actions seemed to be well suited for member involvement.
The July monthly meeting would fall on the 4th of July, so it will probably be scheduled for the following week (July 11th).
The discussions concluded at approximately 7:40 pm.
